• Short-circuit and overvoltage test - The response of the PSU's protection systems to a short circuit and a sudden voltage surge simulated by applying a high-voltage pulse at the PSU's input is tested. 
• Final test - The output voltage level of the power supply is tested by subjecting it to an hour's continuous load.
